Cushendale Woollen Mills is a family run textile manufacturing company which has a history spanning five generations. Through the Cushen family, Cushendale Mills has been in production since the early 1800’s and since that time has continually evolved it range to suit the changing marketplace.
The company today continues to produce high quality products from a range of natural fibres at its traditional woollen mills in Graignamanagh in the county of Kilkenny. This small picturesque Irish village has a history dating back to the arrival of the Cistercian Monks in 1204, a tradition that the Cushen family continues today. The company has the ability to design and fully manufacture a diverse range of wool products such as throws, scarves, luxury mohair and home craft supplies. All the products produced are 100% Irish designed, manufactured and marketed from its headquarters in Ireland. It is one of only two remaining Irish mills in Ireland with full in-house production capabilities.
Cushendale has the unique advantage of being able to dye its own fibers which results in a broad range of unique and vibrant colors. The company’s manufacturing facility houses a range of traditional and modern textile machinery allowing the production of high end finished products in fibres such as lambswool, wool, mohair and cotton chenille.
